FAQs

Do you raise mini’s?

We do not breed, sell nor condone, “Mini” Highlands! Miniature Highlands are a myth that has been promoted by social media, female Highland’s can be 1200-1400 pounds, bulls and steers can be even heavier! Mini Highland have either been subject to malnutrition and stunted in size, commonly seen with Highland who are pulled off their dam’s only for the purpose of bottle feeding. Or they have chondroplaysia, a genetic disorder that causes their skeleton to be malformed, leading to long term pain throughout their life. This gene is not carried by purebred Highlands, so any “Highland” with the Chondro gene has been crossbred with either Dexter or Zebu cattle. Mini’s have been condemned by the Highland Cattle Society in Scotland as well as multiple regional associations in the United States.

Do you sell any cows?

We do sell calves throughout the year, either through private treaty or through auctions run by AHCA regional associations. If you are interested in being notified on available cattle in the future, message Jim at 410-708-9746.

Do you allow pop-in visits?

We do not allow pop ins for a Meet the Moos Sessions or Photo Sessions, those must be scheduled in advanced so we have time to get the cows and barn ready!
